Andaman Castle is an excellent place for a traveller at Port Blair. It's about 25 minutes away from the airport and costs between 150 - 200 Rupees for a cab to get there.
It is about 10 minutes by auto to Aberdeen Bazar. The place is one lane away from the main road and is very quiet and peaceful. The entire property is very well maintained and is super clean. The rooms and bathrooms look brand new. Geysers, airconditioning work flawlessely.
Aamir Bhai, the owner is extremely helpful and has good knowledge of things to do and places to visit in all of the Andaman islands. He arranged autos to pick us up from the hotel and also planned our entire Havelock and Neil Island trip for us and made all the ferry bookings at no extra charge.
The place has decent WiFi. (Note - Andaman islands have very less to offer in terms of internet). The food here is excellent, but has to be ordered about 2 hours in advance. Laxman at the Andaman Castle is a very good cook (do not miss the puri bhaji for breakfast which is complimentary)
The view of the Bay of Bengal from the balcony is refreshing and there's a whole bunch of pretty birds flying about. We spent 2 weeks at the Andaman islands and stayed in about 6 different hotels, some were a lot more priced than this one, but nothing came close to the cleanliness and hospitality at Andaman Castle.
Overall it felt like home and we highly recommend to choose this hotel at Port Blair.
Andaman Castle has been blessed with a perfect location. Situated right in front of beach on a steep slope which gives a beautiful view of Beach. Amir, the owner of the property is such a humble and able person. His complete team is perfectly co ordinated. Andaman Castle is a home away from home. Its a home turned into a holiday home so don't expect 5 Star facilities here. But you can surely expect silence, serenity, beauty and comfort. Amir planned our complete tour and executed it nicely. He was nice enough to provide room of my own choice. The driver Mustafa was also proactive to make our trip a comfortable one with loads of fun. Infact Amir has brought up a very able team. Thanks Mr Amir
The place is tucked nicely and has awesome views. The owner Mr.Aamer is very helpful and inquired lot of times if we need his help with anything. The rooms have all basic amenities , a/c good bed tv washrooms etc. It is more of a home stay kind of thing. They even prepared aloo parantha for me at 9 pm . Great location nicely built property and good service. Only thing I didnt like was there was disturbance wen other people were having dinner in the common dining area if only for a while. Rest all was good.
We stayed here for 4 nights and that was a good and comfortable stay there. Food was good enough. However, 1st floor rooms are the best option to stay here. Opt for sea view room if you are passionate about the Sunrise.
"Highly impressed with the quality, politeness, calmness, extreme helpful of service at Andaman Castle. Cleanliness is the USP. Special thanks to the owner Mr Aamir for arranging a highly satisfactory Andaman Tour Package in a short notice.
A pleasant Home stay!!!"
I, Indrajit Ghosh Dastidar, from Kolkata experienced amazing tour arrangement by Andaman Castle. We went to Andaman on 21st December, 2018. Sea facing room on the 2nd floor accommodated by them was excellent. 7 Night 8 days Package arranged (Havlock and Neil Island) by Andaman Castle for us was very much entertaining and affordable also. Behavior of the Proprietor and all staff was cordial. New Year(2019) best wishes to Mr. Amir and his team
"Clean rooms. Staff were quite friendly and helpful. Excellent location with rooms overlooking the sea. You can watch the sunrise from your balcony!! Food was also good. Strongly recommended if this is your first trip to the Andamans!"
"Stayed here in Dec 2018. Every thing is good about this hotel. Location, service, rooms, hospitality. Mr. Amir is very helpful and perfect planner. Made our visit memorable. Rates are reasonable.
Morning view from sea facing room is amazing. We can hear the sound of sea waves from the room..."
"We visited Port Blair in the 1st week of December. The rooms were very neat and tidy with all the required basic amenities like a working Ac and geyser, clean bathroom, towels etc. However one must keep in mind that this not a luxury hotel and should have expectations…"
"Stayed here with my family in Oct.we went with our little kid and elderly mom n were amazed with their hospitality. Amongst all the hotels that I stayed during my trip to andaman, this was the most warm experience. They treated us like family members.Mr ameer is a true gentleman and was always there to help. Their driver will make u fall in love with the place..he is so decent n helpful.. they never turned away from any help that we needed.my kid fell sick on our way back and vomited badly ..they never showed any disgust and offered help.breakfast option was limited but was enough for us not to complain.the lady cooks yummy puri sabji n the tea is great..u need it specially when u get drenched suddenly . They have no hidden charges n doesnt rob the customers as it happens in other tourist destinations. We had a sea facing room n it was a treat to the eyes to see the moonlight falling on the water. Insects would come inside if u keep the balcony doors open in the night to watch the sight though! But that's what we understand by staying close to nature.
I would always recommend this place to all my friends and contacts coz I know they wont disappoint us.
Thanks for making our stay so memorable..please pass our regards to ur driver too!"
